Located just 1 hour and 30 minutes from Rio Airport or Rio City, Nicholas and Rachel Locke started this amazing project to protect and regenerate the Atlantic Rainforest in 1996. The Atlantic Forest is one of the top five biodiversity hotspots on Earth! One of the world’s most important and endangered biological environments.

On REGUA’s grounds there has been a great amount of research work, regeneration of the rainforest in cooperation with universities and NGO’s from all over the world. The Wetlands are a small Pantanal, with caimans, tapirs, capybaras and many bird and flora species.
